On going projects November 2020. all projects below are all work in progress

  • In Cariari, funding to raise domestic pigs. Eric is ex-delinquent who has been receiving funding to have a better place to live. He was living very closed to the River Tortuguero and when the river rises, his hut could of been washed away. A funding has been released for a re-location of his hut and he now has a safe house to live and funding has helped him to be self sustainable by providng Eric with tools to work what he knows. Garden maintenance and welding and various domestic work. Since he does not have to pay for rent, he is able to sustain himself plus his new partner with 3 children.
  • In Rio Corintho, funding to raise domestic pigs. funding Nica with raising domestic animals. Nica is sick with prostate cancer and he can not work due to his sickness, he does not have income nor any assistance from the Costan Rican government. He lives in the semi-jungle conservation farm where he does not pay rent, he only needs to pay for water and electricity. IASSISTU is funding Nica to be able to raise domestic animals, pigs, chickens and he also grows beans and other agriculture vegetables in order to be able to buy his medicine for the prostate cancer. Nica has been waiting for an operation for 2 years. Due to Covid 19 the public health system is slower for normal health operations.
  • Assisiting ex-prostitutues to receive a new education program or raising live stocks. Sandra is studying bakery skills and have finished her first diploma. She is pursuing more skills by taking short courses and the funding has been given and we are very happy with Sandra's achievements. Sandra lives with 2 children in Guapiles. Sandra has stopped working at the Viajero, the local prostitute bordel from the begnning of Covid 19 pandemic.
  • Assisting ex-narco trafficante with criminal records. Funding new skill study at Cosevi with mechanical studies to become a car mechanic. Jorge Eric is receiving funds and mentor coaching and we are very happy with Jorge Eric's progress. 1 more year to go to finish the school. Funding started in November 2019. The goal is to have the mechanic diploma by November 2020. IASSISTU will co-invest with Jorge Eric upon completion of his mechanic diploma.
  • Working with local people and help adhoc critical situations. For example: we have assisted with baby milk for a baby who was born from a teenager prostitute. We also assisted with finding a family member from the girl to look for a caregiver to the girl. 
  • Raising funds to buy school uniforms and school materials for 3 small children who did not have school material or uniforms. The children are from the rural area and the family did not have the means to buy the school material.
